Common Questions
What is a sober living home?
A sober living home is a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals in recovery. At Tranquility Estates, our fully licensed (Class F) homes foster stability, personal growth, and connection. We provide sober, safe spaces where our residents can focus on their recovery while building a foundation for a brighter future.
Who is eligible to live in a sober living home?
Tranquility Estates residents are required to be in a treatment program. Whether you’ve recently completed inpatient treatment or seek a stable environment to support your outpatient care, our gender-specific homes provide the comfort, privacy, and resources to help you thrive.
Do I need to be sober prior to moving in?
Sobriety is a requirement for moving into our sober living homes. Tranquility Estates offers a drug- and alcohol-free environment that promotes healing and accountability. Additionally, all residents must actively participate in a treatment program to be part of our community. If you are not yet sober, we recommend completing a detox or inpatient treatment program before transitioning to sober living. If you need assistance in achieving sobriety, please contact us.
What to Expect
We understand that each person’s recovery journey is unique. Tranquility Estates follows a general approach similar to other sober living homes. We prioritize tailoring support to individual circumstances, ensuring a personalized approach to recovery. We are committed to helping every resident achieve their goals in the way that works best for them.
Phases of Residency – Our program is structured to provide both guidance and freedom as residents advance through their sobriety. Each phase promotes greater independence while ensuring accountability.
- Blackout Period – The journey begins with a short adjustment period to help new residents focus on themselves and their recovery goals. During this time –
- Access to personal electronics is limited after 11 pm to minimize distractions.
- Residents may stay connected through supervised daily phone calls with their emergency contact.
- This foundational period is temporary and designed to set residents up for success.
- Phase One – During this phase, residents focus on building routines and participating in recovery-focused activities. Standard procedures include –
- Attending regular group meetings with staff support when needed.
- Leaving the premises only with staff or approved passes for planned activities.
- Taking steps toward independence while following set guidelines.
- Phase Two – As residents progress, they gain even more personal responsibility and flexibility. This phase includes –
- Attending recovery meetings independently and managing attendance records.
- Increased freedom to engage in off-premises activities, with clear communication about plans and curfews.
Transportation – We offer transportation assistance for essential needs to help residents stay on track with their recovery and responsibilities. Common reasons for requesting transportation include medical appointments, court appearances, job interviews, and probation meetings.
Transportation is available during designated hours, and requests are prioritized based on urgency. We encourage residents to arrange transportation for personal or non-essential trips when possible.
Transportation will also be frequently available to the grocery store and the gym. It will also be provided for group outings such as hiking, bowling, laser tag, and other fun activities!
